Are we in a tech bubble in late 2015/early 2016?

It seems the markets have moved (slightly) - and you can largely see this from an armchair perspective:

  • The Tech Bubble of 10-15 years ago bought huge valuations with no discernible sign of ‘well how do they make money?’ really being asked
    • Facebook
    • MySpace
    • Twitter
    • (Insert any social media)
  • Now ‘technology’ is something 2 generations are now familiar with there is something of a more measured approach
    • i.e. ‘How will it make money?’ is being baked into the grain of the company itself
      • It’s no coincidence that companies now;
      • Quora
      • Snapchat
      • Instagram etc
    • Are searching for ways to bring in revenue
    • Smaller companies (those we know nothing of are far more concerned with this as a question

The ‘excitement’ has given way to more levelheadedness and a mature look at the market in respect of revenues and profits being an equal part of the conversation to ‘user growth’ and scale.
