How did you choose your career? Did you regret your choice?
If you display an aptitude for all three subjects; politics, economics and programming.
I’d pick programming.
Much of politics and economics you can pick up alone. And making a transition from being a computer scientist to an economist or politician will be much less traumatic than the other way around.
I recognise these decisions are much more meaningful to your future in Latin America than for me here in London. The opportunities are not so broad and there is less flexibility for you
Of course ‘anything is possible’ but it’s such an easy thing to say. Such a hard thing to do.
For all of these reasons. I’d pick programming.
In the West the way we pick our degree courses doesn’t translate the same. I studied English literature. I probably should never have completed a degree because I have never made use of it.
Beyond the ‘name on my resume’ it’s provided me with no practical help. I picked it simply because I was good at it therefore I THOUGHT I’d enjoy it.
I did not.
