I want to write a novel, but don’t have an appealing story idea, skill as a writer, free time, tenacity, imagination, or observational skill needed to write a good novel. What should I do?

Start small and start with an objective you KNOW YOU’LL FULFILL

  1. Week 1 (Baby steps)
  • Write 100 words per day. About anything.

  • Repeat this for 6 days

  • Day 7 celebrate the last 6 DAYS!

    1. Week 2 (Momentum is there. Let’s build on that)
  • Write 200 words per day.

  • Set yourself a challenge. Choose SOMETHING to write about. Like a dog. Or a memory. Or something that happened at work

  • Repeat this for 6 days

  • Day 7 celebrate the last 13 DAYS!

    1. Week 3 (Time to take a leap!)
  • Write 500 words per day

  • Aim to write a short story every day (the word count LIMIT is 500 words)

  • It’s ok to fail - the success is in trying

  • Repeat this for 6 days

  • Day 7. Publish stories on a blog.

Well done! You’re a writer. It only took 21 days
