Why do I constantly worry about money even though I have more than I will ever need?

Why do I constantly worry about money even though I have more than I will ever need?

It’s a little like Pavolov’s Dogs .

Classically conditioned to salivate in response to a conditioned stimulus.

It permeates through cities and cultures. Once you realise that ‘the media’ and modern day focus upon the romanticized ‘Pursuit of Happyness’ is a careful construct - you begin to understand why you worry about money in spite of it’s sufficiency within your life.

The gap between ‘needs’ and ‘wants’ has blurred so dramatically that our desires would have us completely bewitched.

After all, you ‘need’ to:

  1. Start a company
  2. Have a surfboard stomach
  3. A million $ smile
  4. And preach to others of your successes.

I mean that’s what the media needs. It sells newspapers in this way.

And you worry the same way we all do. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs could be written again with “(or wants)” at the base of the pyramid.
